Carbon capture, usage and storage: market engagement on cluster sequencing

Closed 10 Mar 2021

Opened 10 Feb 2021

Overview

This consultation sets out a potential approach to cluster sequencing for carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS), and seeks views on this approach from interested stakeholders.

The consultation covers:

  • A breakdown of a potential two-phase process we may follow in order to allocate CCUS programme support, and the timeline on which we would execute this process
  • The details of the suggested Phase-1 cluster sequencing process, including potential evaluation criteria and the way in which these may be applied
  • The direction of travel for Phase-2 of the process, including a potential approach for allocating support to specific projects within clusters

The consultation will be of interest to CCUS stakeholders, including:

  • Investors and developers involved in potential CCUS projects
  • The industrial and energy sectors more widely
  • NGOs and other organisations with an interest in climate and energy

However, any organisation or individual is welcome to respond.

The questions in this response form relate to the consultation document, which can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/carbon-capture-usage-and-storage-market-engagement-on-cluster-sequencing
