Transition plan requirements consultation
Why we are consulting
The manifesto committed to mandating “UK-regulated financial institutions (including banks, asset managers, pension funds and insurers) and FTSE 100 companies to develop and implement credible transition plans that align with the 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement” and announced in November 2024 that we would consult in the first half of 2025 on how best to take forward our transition plans policy.
This consultation now seeks views on how the government should take forward the manifesto commitment. The government wishes to consult with stakeholders about the design of future requirements, to ensure appropriate consideration is given to the practicalities of implementing these.
