Energy Intensive Industries Compensation Scheme - Net Zero Conditionality Questionnaire

Overview

In 2021 BEIS consulted on the Review of the schemes to compensate certain Energy Intensive Industries for indirect emission costs in electricity prices.  Within that consultation we asked for views on how net zero might be achieved for individual business. 

The Government published its response to this consultation in April 2022.  Within that response we indicated that we would introduce a new condition for businesses, who revive compensation, to share with BEIS their decarbonisation pathways.

This questionnaire is to establish what plans recipients have in place or whether they have plans to develop decarbonisation pathways in the future.  This will help inform next steps for BEIS.
