Leading by Example: Cutting energy bills and carbon emissions in the wider public and higher education sectors. A Call for Evidence
Overview
We are interested in evidence and views about the action required to realise carbon and energy savings across the wider public and higher education sectors in England over the next 10 years. We particularly welcome your comments on the introduction of a voluntary emissions target for the wider public and higher education sector estates in England. This would exclude central government departments and their agencies which already have their own targets.
Please note that the email address shown is for general enquiries only and we will not be able to take any information submitted via this route into our analysis.
You can find the full version of this Call for Evidence on GOV.UK.
What happens next
Following the Call for Evidence we will publish a summary of our request, the responses we received and our subsequent proposals under the ‘We Asked, You Said, We Did’ page on Citizen Space. This highlights the issues the Department has consulted on and their outcomes. A summary of all the topics raised during this specific consultation will also be published at a later date.
Our aim is to publish a voluntary carbon emissions target and reporting mechanism in March 2018 to enable organisations that wish to take part to contribute information on their progress.
