A dual mandate for adult vocational education
Overview
The consultation document – A Dual Mandate for Adult Vocational Education:
summarises what has been done since 2010 to promote a high quality system of vocational education and taining for adults across further and higher education sectors
analyses England's weaker performance on higher level vocational education with many of our comparator nations
Identifies 3 core themes associated with higher level skills and recognises the importance of individuals being given a second chance to gain the fundamental skills required for life and work.
The document looks at what this means for further education colleges, against a background of how education for adults is funded. We welcome responses from providers, businesses and individuals.
